Quaint Notions

This page will gradually evolve into a series of "quaint" notions. Exactly what "quaint" means will probably also evolve over time.

When was the Universe created?

Scientists will tell you that the Universe was created somewhere between 10 and 15 billion years ago. Such lack of precision could be considered to be a sign of our times. Maybe life really was simpler three hundred years ago . . .
In 1658, James Ussher wrote Annalis Veteris et Novi Testamenti in which he specified that "Creation" commenced at 0900 Monday, October 23, 4004 B.C.
P.S. The notion that "life was simpler back then" is itself a "quaint notion".
