An eight ton granite sculpture of the Mad Hatter's Tea Party from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. The sculpture is by Edwin Russell and is located in Golden Square in downtown Warrington.

The Mad Hatter's face from the above sculpture.

The Barley Mow Pub, also located in Golden Square.

A corn field with the Daresbury Laboratories' VanDeGraaff Accelerator in the background (near the village of Daresbury).

A closer look at the accelerator itself. I remember playing with a one meter high VanDeGraaff generator in junior high school. As I recall, it was capable of generating static electricity sparks that were about a foot long. I wonder just what sort of energy (or sparks?) this VanDeGraaff generator could generate?
